Selector Magazine releases their Top 50 wines for 2015
Selector Magazine has released their list of Top 50 Wines of 2015, including both the 2014 Marchand & Burch Mt Barrow Pinot Noir and the 2014 Howard Park Chardonnay in their list.
The 2014 Marchand & Burch Mt Barrow Pinot Noir came in at #5, a truly fantastic result being one of only four pinot noirs included in the list.
“A Pinot drinker’s Nirvana, this delightful wine opens with a funky nose of sweet cherry fruit over stalk, beetroot and mushroom with hints of toasty oak. A powerful and intense yet poised and elegant palate of strawberry, cherry and rhubarb fruit beautifully balanced by smoky oak and delicious savoury, meaty characters. A lush and velvety texture with a ‘peacock’s tail’ of flavour fanning out on the finish”
The 2014 Howard Park Chardonnay came in at #14, one of only three WA chardonnays included in the list.
“A beautifully complex Chardonnay. Opening with a savoury nose of light sonefruit and fine oak, it gives way to a vibrant palate of fig and nectarine within a zesty framework of lemon acidity. Subtle vanillin oak and nutty lees add to the vibrant yet creamy mouthfeel. Excellent texture and endless length.”
Only two producers had multiple wines appear in the list, which is a credit to our winemaking and viticulture teams.
