Burch Family Wines’ Chardonnays have shined in recent competitions, with the 2013 Howard Park Allingham, 2014 Marchand & Burch Porongurup Chardonnay and 2015 Marchand & Burch Porongurup Chardonnay collecting Master & Gold medals.

The soon to be released 2015 Marchand & Burch Porongurup Chardonnay was awarded a Gold medal at the 2016 KPMG Sydney Royal Wine Show last month.

It’s predecessor, the current vintage 2014 Marchand & Burch Porongurup Chardonnay also won big recently, awarded a Master medal by the UK’s Masters of Wine at a recent Drinks Business Chardonnay tasting. Of the wine the judges said “Bright on the nose with lively notes of citrus, stone fruit and a touch of oak. Elegant, vibrant palate with well-integrated oak and a flint character. Long, mineral finish. Very good.”

In the same tasting, the 2013 Howard Park Allingham Chardonnay was also awarded a Master medal, with the judges saying: “Delicate on the nose with bright aromas of lemon and apple. Lovely texture on the palate with vibrant notes of peach showing through. Great balance between fruit and acidity. Fantastic length, complexity and depth. A very stylish wine.”
